Overnight Apple Pie Oats (GF)

Ingredients
1/2 cup thick rolled oats (I used gluten free)
100 ML Unsweetened apple sauce
1 tbsp ground flax or use chia seeds
1/2 tsp apple pie spice
Dash of cinnamon (per your preference)
1-2 tsp maple syrup (per your preference)
3-4 chopped walnuts (optional)
2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any other milk of your choice)
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (optional, I didn’t add any to this recipe)
1 medium size red apple
Directions
- Cut fresh apple in small pieces and toss in a saucepan. Add some apple pie spice, cinnamon, 1-2 tbsp, water and cook on the stove top for about 10 minutes on a low to medium heat. Make sure to stir occasionally. Feel free to add a tsp of maple syrup. Set aside.
- Toss all other ingredients in a bowl and mix. Transfer oats to a jar, add caramelized apple on top, and 3-4 crushed walnuts and refrigerate. Enjoy next morning or few hours later.
