Ingredients

  • 1 large carrot diced

  • 1 small yellow onion

  • 1.5 medium size white potatoes

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tsp white miso paste

  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast (+/-) per your desired consistency

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (for colour)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (+/- per taste)

  • salt per taste

  • *1/3-1/2 cup cashews (Optional – good for kids sauce, or use 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds if nuts free, or omit nuts & seeds during weight loss phase)

Directions

  • Boil all the veggies on a stove top with water including onion and garlic. Once cooked, toss all veggies to a high speed blender and add 1.5 cups of reserved water from your veggies. Add all the spices, nutritional yeast, miso paste, nuts and blend till smooth. Store in a jar in the fridge for up to a week. Re-heat the sauce as needed prior to using throughout the week.

Notes

  • This sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. Serving size is based on 1/4 cup and may vary.
  • *If you’re making this sauce for your kids or not for weight loss then I highly recommend adding cashews or sunflower seeds to make this sauce more creamier and rich.
