Feel free to add any toppings on top and enjoy these buns. They taste the best when served with some sort of dipping sauce. Try them with my Tofu Mayo sauce.
Ingredients
250g Vital Wheat Gluten flour
349g extra firm silken tofu
200 ml unsweetened soy milk
25g Nutritional yeast
1.5 tsp garlic powder
1/2 – 1 tsp salt (+/-)
Any other seasoning of your choice ( I used 1.5 tsp Chipotle seasoning) or omit if using these buns with sweet toppings
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 F. In a high speed blender, toss extra firm silken tofu and soy milk. Blend till smooth. Keep aside.
- In a separate dish, add all your dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour wet into dry and use a spatula to incorporate everything nicely. Dough will be very wet and sticky. There is no need to kneed the dough. Just incorporate everything nicely with a spatula.
- Line a baking tray with a parchment paper or a silicone baking matt. With a spoon, scoop out the dough in 8 equal portions of a bun size ball and place one by one on a parchment paper. Transfer and bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes at 375F.
- Feel free to add these buns to increase protein intake of any of your meals. You can break them into pieces, air fry or toast, add them to your stir fry, or on top of a Cesar salad. These buns can be stored in the refrigerator in an air tight container or a zip log bag for up to 10 days! They’re perfect to meal prep!

Notes
- Texture of these buns is very soft and bread like. If you eat these buns by itself, they are bit on the dry side. I like to cut them in half and toast before serving and I use a dipping sauce to eat these buns (try my Tofu Mayo sauce) or add some sort of sauce to your meals to give it more flavour.
